Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate for an in-person role at a local tax office in Texas. No prior tax experience is required, as training and support start from day one.

You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare returns while building client relationships and tax knowledge. Expect to earn competitive hourly pay with opportunities to increase earnings as you learn. Availability to work evenings and weekends during tax season is preferred, with 15–40 hours per week

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Comfort using digital tools, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma or GED (equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations
• Identify tax savings opportunities and suggest relevant products
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork
