Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office in Texas. You’ll begin a career in tax and client services with training from day one, working with clients to gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions.

No prior tax experience required, and you’ll earn an hourly rate that can increase as you gain tax knowledge and confidence. This is an in-person, seasonal position with flexible weekend/evening hours during peak season.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or client-facing roles
• Strong communication, including clear explanations and questions to assess needs
• Problem solving with ability to organize information and propose solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based assistants

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products/services
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to team goals
