Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate for in-person at a local tax office in Texas. You will meet with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns, and explain tax implications while delivering service with accuracy and care.

No prior tax experience is required as training is provided. This role offers an hourly wage with opportunities to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows, and flexibility to work 15–40 hours per week during peak tax season.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
