Join H&R Block as a seasonal Tax Associate in Washington. You'll work in-person at a local tax office, meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience required; earn a competitive hourly rate and opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge. We value strong communication, teamwork, and a client-first approach.

Evenings/weekends during peak periods may be required; 15–35 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Completed H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills with organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED/equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
