Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join a local Michigan tax office. You’ll work directly with clients to gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions with training and support from day one.

No prior tax experience is required; you’ll earn an hourly rate and have opportunities to increase earnings as you grow tax knowledge. This is an in-person, client-facing role with evenings and weekends during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Problem-solving abilities with information organization.
• Comfort with digital tools and AI-based systems.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations to clients.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products.
• Address questions with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities.
