Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to join our local tax office in Greensboro, NC. You’ll work directly with clients to gather information, prepare returns, and respond to questions with training and support from experienced teammates.

You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate, with opportunities to increase earnings as you gain tax knowledge; this role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office, with hours that can flex up during peak periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; customer-facing experience preferred.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication; ability to explain information clearly and ask questions to understand needs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to organize information.
• Comfort with digital tools and AI-based tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with guidance from teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and suggest relevant products and services.
• Apply reasoning to analyze client information and address questions with available resources.
