Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to start a career in tax and client services in person at a local tax office. You will gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions while building client relationships. Competitive hourly rate with earning growth as tax knowledge expands.

No prior tax experience is required. Training and support are provided from day one, with opportunities to work 15–40 hours weekly during peak periods and evenings/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment
• Strong communication, clear explanations and needs-based questions
• Problem solving with information organization and solutions
• Comfort using digital tools including AI-based systems
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend products/services
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance
• Collaborate with teammates to support office priorities
