Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to begin a career in tax and client services with hands-on training from day one. You will meet with clients, gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions while building important client relationships.

This in-person role offers an hourly rate with potential to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows. No prior tax experience is required, and you’ll work with experienced teammates to ensure accurate filings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in customer-facing environments.
• Strong communication with ability to explain complex information clearly.
• Problem-solving and information-organizing abilities.
• Comfort using digital tools, AI-based assistants (Copilot, ChatGPT).
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and client-first approach.
