Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to start a career in tax and client services with training from day one. You’ll meet with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions while learning tax concepts and building client relationships.

This in-person role offers an hourly pay with opportunities to earn more as knowledge grows. No prior tax experience required; you'll be supported by experienced teammates and a client-first culture at your local office.

Qualifications

• Completed the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in an understandable way.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
