Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate in a local office. You’ll meet with clients to gather tax information, help prepare returns with training, and answer questions while building strong client relationships.

No prior tax experience is required; you’ll earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you gain tax knowledge and grow in the role. This is an in-person position at a local H&R Block tax office, with training and support from day one.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
