Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients, gather information, prepare tax returns with guidance, and explain tax details in an accessible way.

No prior tax experience is required, and you’ll earn an hourly rate with opportunities to grow as you gain knowledge. Training from day one and strong client relationships are emphasized, along with a team-oriented, client-first environment and potential for higher earnings

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems included AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
