H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join our local tax office in Illinois. You’ll gather client information, prepare returns, and answer questions with training and support from day one.

No prior tax experience required, and you’ll earn an hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you grow in the role. This in-person position emphasizes client service, teamwork, and building strong relationships with clients while learning tax concepts and using digital tools

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course 1.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsabilités

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
