Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join our local tax office. You’ll work directly with clients to gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions with training and support from day one.

This in-person role offers an hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge and client relationships. Availability for 15–35 hours per week, with peak-period evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Completed H&R Block Income Tax Course 1.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
