Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients to gather information, prepare returns, and address questions with guidance from experienced teammates. Training is provided to help you learn tax rules and client-facing skills.

You’ll earn an hourly wage during tax season, with opportunities to increase earnings as you gain tax knowledge and experience in client services.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course or equivalent tax coursework.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
