Job summary

H&R Block, a nationwide tax services company, is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in a local office. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience is required, and you will earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge. This in-person role offers hands-on client service and collaboration within a team.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in or completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
