Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training provided. You’ll explain tax details clearly and identify potential savings opportunities while building strong client relationships.

No prior tax experience required; strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential. Availability for up to 40 hours during peak tax season and 15–35 hours weekly is expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain information clearly
• Problem-solving and ability to organize information
• Comfort using digital tools including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork
