Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office in person. You will meet with clients to gather information, prepare returns with training provided, and explain tax information clearly to help clients understand their options.

No prior tax experience is required, and compensation is hourly with potential to increase as you build tax knowledge. Availability to work evenings and weekends during tax season is common in this role.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course 1
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
