Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates. You will explain tax information clearly and identify savings opportunities while building strong client relationships.

No prior tax experience is required; you will earn a competitive hourly rate and grow with tax knowledge during peak season.

Qualifications

Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment
Strong communication and questioning to understand needs
Problem-solving and organizing information
Comfort using digital tools including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
