Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to assist clients with tax information gathering, return preparation, and questions. No prior tax experience is required; we provide training and support from day one, with a competitive hourly rate.

This in-person role is at a local H&R Block tax office, with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge, and with availability for evenings and weekends during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems incl. AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
