Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate for in-person work at a local tax office. No prior tax experience is required as training and support are provided from day one. You will meet with clients, gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions while building client relationships.

The role offers an hourly pay rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you gain tax knowledge during peak tax season. Evening/weekend shifts may be required during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain information clearly
• Problem-solving skills and ability to organize information
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations
• Identify tax savings opportunities and relevant products/services
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork
