Job summary

A national staffing firm is seeking a part-time Seasonal Tax Associate to work 100% remotely. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience filing federal and state individual tax returns using commercial tax software. Strong customer service skills are essential, as you will communicate with clients through video tools. An active PTIN is required. Flexibility to work at least 20 hours spread over three days is needed, with compensation of up to $31 per hour on a W2 basis.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sensitive customer, confidential and/or proprietary business information in a responsible, reliable, and safe manner.
• Utilize government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to seek out and deliver the right answer to the customer using everyday language.
• As a virtual, customer‑facing role, interact via state‑of‑the‑art video communication software, documenting interactions to maintain accurate records.
• Interact with customers and team members in a professional manner.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of paid experience filing 30 or more federal and state individual 1040 tax returns, using commercial tax preparation software.
• Passion for helping clients navigate tax complexities and a commitment to enhancing our brand by delighting customers.
• Excellent customer service skills; excited to interact with customers through video and audio tools professionally, friendly, and confidently.
• Possess or be able to obtain related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds and an active PTIN.
• Must have or be willing to obtain an internet connection that meets security criteria.
• Available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, spread across three or more days.
