Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to join a local tax office in person. You will prepare returns, interview clients to understand their financial situations, and offer personalized tax recommendations while delivering empathetic service.

You will build lasting client relationships, identify tax savings opportunities, and provide IRS support and audit guidance as needed. Training and technology support are provided in a competitive hourly role with incentive

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide clear recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
