Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare complex returns, interview clients, and identify tax savings opportunities in-person at a local tax office.

You will provide IRS support and work with the team to deliver clear explanations of tax concepts, backed by training and technology.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations, including individual and business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications; provide clear recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
