Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Advisor to prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses and to interview clients to understand their financial situations. You will deliver personalized recommendations and help clients maximize savings while offering IRS support and audit guidance as needed.

You will work in-person at a local H&R Block tax office, collaborating with team members in a client-focused environment and contributing to ongoing training and technology-enabled

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients
• Must meet continuing education requirements and IRC/state requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required; further degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and life changes
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive client-focused office
