Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Advisor to prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses in a local office. You will interview clients to understand their financial situations, offer personalized recommendations, and identify tax savings opportunities while delivering empathetic, consultative service.

You will collaborate with team members and provide IRS support and audit guidance as needed in a client-focused environment.

Qualifications

Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment1.
Minimum 2 years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
Experience in client-facing, consultative, or advisory roles.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.
Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and life changes; provide recommendations.
Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and HR Block products.
Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
