Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Temporary/Seasonal Support to coordinate Angel Tree activities in local malls and centers in Fredericksburg, VA. The role includes managing the Angel Tree Table, tracking tag assignments, and coordinating gift returns with staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D required.
• Two years’ experience in a social or public service environment with experience assisting the public.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Temporary/Seasonal SupportThis position is responsible for:Managing the Angel Tree Table at area Angel Tree sits in local malls, shopping centers, etc. Creates and maintains files, on individuals or groups, who have selected angel tags, collect returning gifts and ensuring correct angel tags are attached. Will provide Corps officers with regular updates.Key Responsibilities:Communicates the purpose and mission of the Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program to individuals and groups; ensuring they are informed of expectations of purchases and appropriate return timeframe.In consultation with the Corps Officer, creates and prepares marketing materials and filing needs.Develops and maintains a record-keeping system in order to retain contact information and their angel tag numbers; and ensure the data is organized, easily interpretated and accessible by other office staff and the corps officer, with approved access.Maintains the Angel Tree Program operations manual for paid employees and volunteers that staff Angel Tree tables at special events.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.). Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.Work may be performed in a normal office environment within a climate-controlled structure.
