Job summary

The Salvation Army Shoals area seeks a temporary Angel Tree Worker to support the seasonal Angel Tree program. You will lift and sort donations, serve at Angel Tree sites, interact with donors, and help with warehouse setup and pickup operations.

This seasonal role requires basic reading and writing in English, and the ability to work well with colleagues and the public. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provides support for the Angel Tree program.
• Lifts, carries, loads and unloads donations.
• Serves as an attendant at Angel Tree sites; interacts with donors.
• Assists with the cleanup, layout, and setup of the warehouse.
• Assists with pickup from the mall or corporate locations.
• Performs data entry of recipient information into the established database.

Schedule/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:30, seasonal & temporaryThe Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a temporary, seasonal job opening for an Angel Tree Worker for the Shoals area.This position is responsible for:Providing support for the seasonal Angel Tree program; lifts, carries, loads and unloads a variety of donations; serves as an attendant at Angel Tree sites; interacts with donors and responds to questions regarding the donation process; assists with the clean up, lay out, and set up of the warehouse; assists with pick up from the mall or corporations; performs data entry of recipient information.Key Responsibilities:Responds to questions about the Angel Tree program; maintains a good relationship with donors and recipients to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army.Travel to Angel Tree sites to represent The Salvation Army and deliver supplies.Assist with Angel Tree pick-ups from the drop-off locations; unloads donations at the Christmas warehouse; assist recipients with loading gifts into vehicles.Lifts and stacks donations in vehicles and in the warehouse; distribute donations to their proper place; organizes donated items in the established method.Assists with data entry of recipient data into established database.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects 5-10% of work time.Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.Ability to stand in one location for extended periods.High School Diploma or GED, preferred but not required.Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers.Knowledge of The Salvation Army Christmas Angel Tree Program.Ability to follow instructions with limited supervision.Ability to relate to the general public in a polite, friendly manner.Equal Opportunity Employer: Veterans | Disabled
