Base pay range

$15.00/hr - $16.00/hr

Summer Camp Instructors are dependable, caring, and joyful staff who facilitate bouldering day camps for kids aged 4-12. Responsibilities include setting clear expectations, leading engaging games and activities, providing fun challenges, and using positive reinforcement to ensure a safe and inclusive environment. Instructors also lead climbing instruction and are expected to adhere to all BP rules and policies.

Essential Duties

• Facilitate check-in, waivers, rental shoes, facility rules, and orientations with youth program participants
• Develop and execute lessons that reflect the quality of BP’s youth programs
• Collaborate with other youth programs staff and the programs manager to facilitate day camps
• Provide excellent customer service to families by communicating professionally and friendly
• Provide ongoing feedback to youth, families, and the programs manager regarding participant needs and development

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Enjoy working with youth aged 4-12
• Weekday availability
• Previous camp or customer service experience preferred
• First AID/CPR certification preferred
• Fingerprint Clearance or SafeSport Certification preferred

Facility Safety and Incident Response

• Ensure safety of participants, staff, and customers through organization and oversight
• Promote risk mitigation via instruction and orientation
• Respond to accidents and incidents following BP protocols and document appropriately

Schedule and Expectations

• Attend camp instructor training in mid-May
• Camp days are Monday-Friday during AZ public school summer break, either 8 am-1 pm or 9 am-5 pm, with schedule preferences considered
• Required availability Monday-Wednesday
• Up to 20 hours per week
