Job summary

Dance Connection in Islip and Bay Shore is seeking Seasonal Overhire Assistants to help keep our studios organized and welcoming during peak periods and events. This flexible, on-call role supports decorating, setup, and general operations across both locations.

Responsibilities include setting up decorations, moving props, organizing storage, and assisting with event breakdown. On-site availability and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work on-call shifts on-site at Islip or Bay Shore.
• Physical ability to lift/move materials as needed.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable team member contributing to studio operations.
• On-site presence during scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities

• Studio Decorating: Assist with decorating studio and office spaces during seasonal transitions and special events, ensuring a festive, welcoming atmosphere.
• Scenery and Prop Management: Help with moving and organizing scenery, props, and production-related materials for recitals, performances, and events.
• Storage Organization: Manage storage areas to ensure props, costumes, and studio supplies are properly stored and easily accessible.
• Event Setup and Breakdown: Assist with setting up and breaking down decorations, props, and equipment for recitals, shows, and other studio events.
• General Operations Support: Provide flexible assistance for office filing, inventory management, and other ad-hoc operational tasks as needed.
