Job summary

Division of Parks and Recreation in Delaware seeks a year-round Maintenance position to manage and execute building maintenance for 24 units in the northern region. The role involves repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and coordinating with contractors.

Applicants should have up to six months in trades such as plumbing or carpentry, with record-keeping and cost estimation experience, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in performing work in a variety of trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, or HVAC.
• Six months experience in record keeping.
• Knowledge of estimating cost, time, and materials for projects.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and upgrades to rental units within the northern region.
• Performs regularly scheduled preventative maintenance within intern housing units.
• Assists Housing Administrator with annual housing inspections.
• Assists Housing Administrator with maintaining current lists for tasks to be completed for each unit.
• Acts as liaison between Housing Administrator and contractors to ensure contracted work is completed in a timely manner and meets the Division’s standard.
• Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and good communication skills.
• Maintain a positive attitude.
• Other duties as assigned.
