Job summary

The Montana Department of Transportation is seeking a temporary Snowplow Driver/Hwy Maintenance Tech in Grass Range for winter road upkeep. Duties include snow removal, right-of-way cleaning, guardrail and fence repairs, signage, luminaires, traffic control, and salt brine production.

Applicants must have 1 year of heavy truck or construction equipment experience and hold a Montana CDL Class A Type II with tank endorsement and MEC.

Qualifications

• One year experience driving heavy trucks or operating construction equipment.
• Valid Montana Commercial Operators License Class A Type II with tank endorsement and MEC.
• Willing to live within 45 road miles of the work HQ and be reachable by telephone.

Responsibilities

• Snow removal and cleaning the right of way.
• Fixing guardrail, repairing fences, signs, and luminaires.
• Traffic control and salt brine production.
• Work under extreme weather and during weekends/holidays as needed.
