Job summary

Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) in Big Timber is seeking a full-time temporary Snowplow Driver/Hwy Maintenance Tech for winter road maintenance. Duties include snow removal, clearing rights of way, repairing guardrails, signs, and luminaires, and traffic control with salt brine production.

Applicants must have one year of experience driving heavy trucks or operating construction equipment, plus Montana CDL Class A with tank endorsement; basic math, record keeping, and computer skills

Qualifications

• One (1) year experience driving heavy truck or operating construction equipment.
• Knowledge of highway maintenance and equipment operation including basic diesel/gasoline vehicle maintenance.
• Basic math, record keeping, computer skills and the ability to make estimates of materials needed.

Responsibilities

• Snow removal and cleaning the right of way.
• Repairing guardrails, fences, signs and luminaires.
• Traffic control and salt brine production.
