Job summary

The Coral Springs Police Department is seeking a Seasonal School Resource Officer to support safety and security at an assigned elementary school. You will work under a Police Sergeant and partner with a neighboring school’s full-time SRO to fulfill duties and respond to incidents as needed.

This role includes a take-home vehicle (subject to a nominal monthly fee) to offset travel costs. Benefits are not provided, and overtime is limited except in emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must have separated or retired from all prior law enforcement agencies in good standing.
• Must have successfully completed the Broward College Institute of Public Safety agility course within the preceding 6 months of application date.
• Must have successfully completed the swim test at the Broward College Institute of Public Safety (does not expire).

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a Police Sergeant, the Seasonal School Resource Officer will be tasked with the general safety and security of their assigned school.
• The Seasonal School Resource Officer will be partnered with a full-time School Resource Officer from a neighboring school to assist in the execution of duties.
