Job summary

Geary County is seeking a Maintenance Worker - IST to perform road and bridge upkeep, construction material handling, and facilities maintenance while delivering courteous service to county residents.

This on-site role requires ability to operate various equipment, follow safety procedures, and adapt to weather conditions. The position emphasizes public service and maintenance tasks across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• A current Class C driver’s license and legally able to operate a motor vehicle in Kansas.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor vehicle maintenance and preventative maintenance.
• Mow roadside grass and brush.
• Operate equipment such as lawn mower, tractor, pickup and related machinery.
• Assist with snow removal from sidewalks using shovel and snow blower.
• Clean and sanitize facilities, restrooms, and remove trash as needed.
