Job summary

New Balance Athletics, Inc. is seeking Retail Sales Associates for a holiday seasonal role in New York. You will deliver exceptional customer service, leveraging product knowledge to guide shoppers through the purchase process and represent the brand with every interaction.

Eligible candidates are 18+, comfortable with a flexible schedule including weekends/holidays, and able to stand for long periods while handling light lifting. Prior retail experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Should be a people person.
• Past retail experience preferred, but not necessary.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to flourish in a team environment.
• Familiarity with cash register functions.
• Ability to quickly perform basic math.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance; stand for extended periods; climb ladders occasionally; NYC pay range is hourly and location-based.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service using proper selling techniques, product knowledge, and the GUEST service model.
• Greet and make customer contact.
• Understand the customer's needs.
• Educate the customer on product features and benefits.
• Solve customer problems and answer questions.
• Transact sales through suggestive selling and effective closing.
• Take shoe calls and deliver shoes from stockroom.
• Replenish sales floor and align with visuals standards.
• Measure and fit customers with NB products.
• Inform customers about promotions.
• Keep the floor neat, organized, and well stocked.
• Label and price items correctly.
• Protect products by tagging, monitoring floor merchandise, and reporting shrinkage.
• Follow safety regulations and report accidents or near misses.
