Job summary

White Pass & Yukon Route is seeking energetic Retail Clerks to greet guests and assist with merchandise in a friendly store setting. You will handle purchases, returns, and exchanges while maintaining a clean, secure environment during our seasonal operation.

Training is available, and a positive attitude with strong teamwork is essential. Housing is provided for eligible staff as part of the season from May through September.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm for Skagway and the White Pass product.
• Retail experience preferred, but training is available.
• Positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
• Excellent ability to communicate information to the public.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Able to stand for 8+ hours and navigate stairs regularly.
• Able to move 25+ pounds intermittently.
• Able to bend, stoop, lift, reach, push, pull, twist, walk, crouch and squat.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, assist with locating merchandise and answer questions.
• Restock items and keep storeroom neat and clean.
• Process customer purchases, returns, refunds, and exchanges.
• Maintain cash and receipts using POS system.
• Open/close the store and secure premises.
• Receive freight and prepare souvenir goods for merchandising.
• Provide excellent service for in-person and phone customers.
• Coordinate with stockers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Coordinate with Gift Shop staff and other departments for safety and service.
• Provide information to guests about WP&YR schedules, history and visitor services.
