Job summary

Vail Resorts in Beaver Creek is hiring for winter seasonal positions including Assistant Manager of the Rental Shop. You will oversee daily operations, support the manager, supervise attendants, ensure inventory, and deliver guest-focused service in a fast-paced mountain environment.

Starting wage $25.00-$28.60/hr, with full-time hours available and housing options. Applicants must be 18+, able to lift 30–50 lbs, and flexible for nights, holidays, and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; business area training preferred
• 1–2 years in rental operations, outdoor recreation, retail, or hospitality
• Supervisory or team-lead experience preferred
• Experience in fast-paced, customer-facing environment
• Flexible schedule including nights, holidays, weekends
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs regularly

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Rental Shop to ensure guest-focused service.
• Support the Manager in opening/closing procedures, staffing, and workflow management.
• Ensure equipment inventory is organized, maintained, and rotated properly.
• Monitor rental flow to reduce wait times and improve guest experience.
• Supervise Rental Attendants and staff during shifts.
• Provide coaching, real-time feedback, and adherence to policies.
• Protect assets and manage inventory for rental products.
• Manage budgets and payroll in line with operations needs.
• Assist with training new employees on equipment handling and safety.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, safety-first work environment.
• Ensure staff follow safety guidelines and SOPs.
• Monitor workspace for hazards and take corrective action.
• Ensure compliance with waivers and age/weight guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned
