Job description

Join to apply for the (Seasonal) Recreation Attendant role at Lake Metroparks.

Base pay range

$12.50/hr - $12.50/hr

PAY RATE: $12.50 per hour (up to 600 hours per year or 20 days per year).
Eligible part-time employees may receive up to a $5.75 per hour retention bonus for hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day, plus a $0.60 per hour seasonal bonus. Click here for details.

General Statement of Duties

This position involves operation and maintenance of recreational facilities, including the Waterpark area and Food Service.

Essential Duties

• Monitor the Waterpark Area to ensure visitor safety.
• Process ticket sales accurately.
• Maintain park grounds and keep them litter-free.
• Enforce park rules and regulations.
• Clean buildings and restrooms regularly.
• Care for shrubs and flower beds.
• Handle food and beverage orders accurately and manage cash properly.
• Prepare food and beverage items.
• Assist in preparing daily reports.
• Operate Point of Sale systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 16 years or older.
• Ability to distinguish letters and symbols.
• Ability to work well with co-workers, supervisors, and visitors.
• Ability to operate Point of Sale systems.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to traverse various terrains.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to perform essential duties.

Additional Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
