Job summary

The City of Delaware is seeking a seasonal Laborer to support the Public Works department. You will perform semi-skilled and unskilled tasks under supervision, with assignments to various projects as needed.

Applicants should have basic math, knowledge of traffic laws for vehicle operation, and the stamina for outdoor work in varying weather. A valid Ohio driver's license is required; compensation is under the Part Time, Intermittent and Seasonal Pay Plan.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Possession of a valid State of Ohio driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Participate in yard waste, refuse, and recycling collection operations.
• Assist with flagging traffic for work zone safety.
• Support concrete and asphalt placement activities.
• Perform signage, guardrail, and pavement marking applications and maintenance.
• Conduct field data collection tasks.
• Carry out general vehicle and equipment cleaning and maintenance.
• Assist with shop organization and cleanup.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
