Seasonal Parks Worker

General Description: The purpose of this position is to perform manual labor for a variety of seasonal (temporary) maintenance work at County owned or controlled parks and related improvements. Work may require special skills in a trade such as landscaping, electrical, carpentry, and plumbing. This position works under close supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences within specified procedures and work areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains grounds and landscaping of the County park properties.
• Paints the interior and exterior of buildings and equipment.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Requires High school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by one (1) or more years of experience that includes landscaping maintenance, general maintenance work, and equipment operation or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Additional Requirements

Knowledge of and skill in the methods and practices of lawn and grounds care, painting, minor carpentry, plumbing, and other trade areas; ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to do manual labor; regular and timely attendance; and performance of duties in a safe manner. Must pass testing for substance abuse and criminal background investigation. Must maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes harmonious relations with customers, co-workers, and supervisors. Direct deposit of pay required.
