Job summary

Denver Botanic Gardens is seeking a Seasonal Private Events Associate to support the York Street Events Department. The role requires working weekends, evenings, and some holidays across indoor/outdoor settings and non-air-conditioned spaces.

Responsibilities include on-site event representation, coordinating deliveries, and assisting with setup, AV support, and vendor coordination, ensuring guest satisfaction and safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and floorplans.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups.
• Ability to solve practical problems with varied variables and limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to troubleshoot, multitask and solve problems as they arise.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills with the public.
• Ability to stay stable under pressure and handle stressful situations.
• Flexibility to modify plans as needed throughout the day.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Responsibilities

• On-site event representative for the private event team.
• Provide positive experiences for guests in collaboration with the Events Department.
• Follow radio communication procedures and policies.
• Maintain a proactive, solution-oriented demeanor with clients and vendors.
• Assist setup, installation, breakdown, and strike of event equipment.
• Serve as on-site lead when opening for private events.
• Check venue spaces for trash/damage; report issues promptly.
• Ensure clients and vendors follow venue rules; report damages.
• Coordinate deliveries (flowers, liquor, dance floors, tables, chairs).
• Assist audio-visual team with light setups and support as needed.
• Uphold department policies and Gardens mission.
