The hotel is a prominent landmark against the Louisville skyline, glistening during the day and glowing at night, with the iconic glassy ends of the 612 room hotel. The hotel pool and rooftop bar, designed for seamless indoor and outdoor integration, allows guests to rest, relax and socialize with downtown Louisville as the backdrop. The essence of Louisville is woven throughout with interior design blends elements of the city’s heritage, culture and character, felt everywhere from the hotel restaurants to a featured bourbon bar to the hotel’s Speakeasy and bowling alley.

Guests can also enjoy a dynamic 20,000 square foot urban food hall and market connected to the lobby of the hotel. Transforming Liberty Street into a pedestrian thoroughfare, the market serves as a community gateway for hotel guests and locals alike, inviting the neighborhood in with the smells of freshly brewed Heine Brothers’ coffee, baked bread, and smoked barbeque.

Job Description

To ensure our guests experience the highest level of satisfaction across our food and beverage division, we are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our food and beverage team as Seasonal Hotel Food and Beverage Servers. In this role you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service and you will contribute to a positive and memorable dining experience for all our guests during peak season. The responsibilities for this role include the following:

Responsibilities
  • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
  • Provide menu recommendations and answer questions about menu items
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders to guests
  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and promptly address any concerns or issues
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the dining areas, storage areas, bars, and kitchen areas
  • Upsell additional menu items when appropriate
  • Process payments and handle cash transactions accurately and within the standard operating practices
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down dining areas, bars, and kitchen areas
  • Have extensive bourbon knowledge
  • Have a working knowledge of all food and beverage menus
  • Observe and adhere to all liquor liability laws
  • Monitor alcohol intake of guests, prohibiting the sale of alcohol to those who are intoxicated
  • Serve properly mixed and proportioned drinks, in a timely manner, to guests accurately
  • Maintain the service well, when applicable
  • Clean floors, surfaces, behind stations, and remove trash each night
  • Perform any side duties or other tasks assigned by supervisor or manager
  • Demonstrate excellent teamwork with other food and beverage associates
  • Always communicate in a positive manner
Qualifications
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Knowledge of liquor, beer, and wine
  • Flexible work schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Alcohol training certification (STAR)
  • SERV Safe Food Handlers Certified
  • Must be 19 years or older
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Ability to work in tight quarters with others
  • Lift and carry 20 pounds routinely, up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, squat, reach, and lean during work
  • Previous experience as a bartender in a hotel or restaurant preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Duration

This is a seasonal position, with the possibility of extension based on business needs.
