Job summary

Johnny's Selected Seeds is seeking a Customer Support Specialist 1 to be the first line of contact for commercial farmers and home gardeners. This onsite Fairfield, ME position offers seasonal work with potential to go full-time based on performance.

You will handle orders, catalog requests, and inquiries across multiple channels, contributing to customer success and the company mission. A strong interest in agriculture and solid communication are key.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Interest in agriculture, farming, or gardening preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with solid problem-solving abilities.
• Able to multitask across programs.

Responsibilities

• Handle 50+ inbound calls daily with one-call resolution.
• Provide accurate, timely responses via phone, email, chat, and other channels.
• Enter and manage orders across platforms (phone, email, fax, mail, PO).
• Outbound phone sales campaigns.
• Support customers with order status, product information, and account updates.
• Document product feedback and customer interactions in CRM.
• Manage catalog/sample requests, hold orders, and backorder communications.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and improve service.
• Participate in training, buddy support, and trade show order processing.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity in all systems.
