Job summary

SXSW is seeking a Seasonal Content Creator to produce engaging content for SXSW’s social channels. You will craft digital storytelling across music, film & TV, and tech, delivering high-quality videos and captions with strong attention to detail.

The role involves real-time on-site coverage during the Austin festival, interview short-form videos, and collaboration with multiple teams to ensure timely publication of assets during January–April seasons.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Journalism/Marketing/Communications is a plus).
• Content creator background (2–4 years) or social media experience at festivals/publications preferred.
• Expertise in music, film & TV, or tech industries.
• Mastery of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of the listed tools (Hootsuite, Edits, CapCut, Airtable, Google Drive, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop).
• Basic knowledge of social media analytics software (Meta, YouTube, Hootsuite Analytics).
• Portfolio of previous work required.

Responsibilities

• Produce social-first digital content to grow engagement on SXSW’s social channels (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn).
• Create social-first videos optimized for different platforms.
• Edit and proofread content for brand consistency and grammar.
• Stay updated on music, film & TV, and tech trends to leverage conversations.
• Review content calendars to ensure timely production and publication.
• Stay informed on festival culture and storytelling formats for diverse audiences.
• On-site: Create real-time event coverage through video, interviews, and attendee experiences.
• On-site: Capture vertical video daily per content directives for platforms.
• On-site: Interview talent and participants for engaging short-form videos.
• On-site: Publish content from conferences, activations, and festival coverage.
