Job summary

SGS is seeking a Seasonal Lab Technician to support daily production targets by preparing samples with accuracy under supervision, following SGS SOPs and safe laboratory practices. You’ll work as part of a team to ensure hold times and turnaround times are met.

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 0–2 years in analytical chemistry, seed or biological labs, or related hands-on experience. Training provided; familiarity with basic instrumentation is a plus; strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples for analysis according to SGS SOPs under supervision.
  • Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of prep instruments/equipment.
  • Input and maintain technical information to support lab functions.
  • Maintain Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
  • Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Description
Summary

The Seasonal Lab Technician will, with adequate training, prepare samples with accuracy and precision in accordance to SGS' SOPs. Work under the direction of a supervisor and as part of a team to meet daily production targets and ensure hold times and turnaround times are met. Always follow safe laboratory practices and maintain a safe working environment.

Job Functions
  • After appropriate training independently prepare samples for analysis according to SGS’ analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies
  • Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipment
  • Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations.
  • Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories seed or biological laboratory or prior experience working with one’s hands.
