Job summary

SGS in City of Industry, CA is seeking a Lab Technician I for a 90-day seasonal role. You will prepare samples with accuracy following SGS analytical SOPs, operate basic instruments, and ensure hold and turnaround times are met while maintaining safety.

Required: high school diploma with 0–2 years in analytical chemistry, strong English, and basic math/computer skills; ability to lift up to 25 lbs. The position pays $20-22 per hour with overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 0–2 years in analytical chemistry labs.
• Associate degree in chemistry preferred with 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• GC experience preferred and basic English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples and login/prep according to SOPs using basic instrumentation.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of prep instruments.
• May assist with validation and MDL studies.
• Input and maintain technical information to support lab functions.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook and adhere to standards and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.

Our City of Industry, CA laboratory is looking for a Lab Technician to join theirteam! The Lab Technician will prepare samples with accuracy and precision in accordance to SGS’ analytical SOPs. The Lab Technician works independently and as part of a team to meet daily production targets and ensure hold times and turnaround times are met. The Lab Technician always follows safe laboratory practices and maintains a safe working environment.

Job Functions

• After appropriate training independently receive, login, or prep samples for analysis according to SGS’ analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies
• Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipment
• May assist with validation and MDL studies
• Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations
• Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma and 0-2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories, required
• Associate's degree in chemistry or similar scientific discipline, and 1-2 years of years’ relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories, preferred
• GC experienceprefer
• Advanced English language skills (Required)
• Basic mathematical and reasoning skills (Required)
• Basic computer skills (Required)
• Ability to lift/carry/push or pull upwards of 25 lbs. on a frequent basis (Required)

This position pays $20-22 per hour and is eligible for overtime.
