Job summary

Canyon Ridge High School invites applications for a dedicated coach to lead the Junior Varsity Baseball program for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will motivate student-athletes, develop practice plans, and foster a positive, competitive environment while aligning with school goals.

This is a seasonal, at-will role within the athletic department. Responsibilities include organizing practices and games, communicating with families and administrators, and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching at high school level or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends during baseball season.
• Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement practice plans and game strategies to improve skills and team performance.
• Conduct daily practices and instruct on fundamental techniques and strategies.
• Organize and oversee all aspects of the Junior Varsity program, including scheduling.
• Foster a positive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, and academics.
• Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with head varsity coach to align goals and training methods.
• Communicate with players, parents, and school administration about progress and schedules.
• Ensure safety and well-being of student-athletes during practices and games.
• Assist in recruitment and retention of JV players.
• Uphold Canyon Ridge High School and athletic department values.
