Job summary

Canyon Ridge High School in Twin Falls, Idaho seeks a dedicated Girls Basketball Junior Varsity Assistant Coach for the upcoming season. The role supports the head coach in developing players, planning practices, and fostering a positive, competitive environment for growth on and off the court.

Ideal candidates have prior basketball coaching experience, strong communication, and the ability to motivate student-athletes to achieve both personal and team goals.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience in basketball, preferably at the high school level or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes to growth on and off the court.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices, drills, and strategies to enhance player performance and team cohesion.
• Support the development of individual players’ skills through personalized coaching and feedback.
• Help organize and manage team logistics, including transportation, equipment, and game-day preparations.
• Attend all scheduled games and practices, providing encouragement and guidance to athletes.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and hard work.
• Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team updates, schedules, and expectations.
• Assist in scouting and evaluating opponents to prepare the team for competition.
• Promote the importance of academic achievement and personal responsibility among student-athletes.
• Collaborate with the head coach and other coaching staff to implement the overall vision and goals for the basketball program.
