Job summary

Bend Park and Recreation District is hiring a Seasonal Facilities Specialist 1 to perform semi-skilled facility maintenance. You will operate the Zamboni, sharpen skates, assist as a rink monitor, and help with skate rentals and event setups.

Responsibilities include ice maintenance, equipment safety, and providing guidance to facility users while abiding by safety rules and district procedures. Training starts soon with weekends and early morning shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; technical training is preferred.
• Two years of park services, public works, or related facility maintenance experience preferred OR any satisfactory combination.

Responsibilities

• Operate ice resurfacer (Zamboni) and edger; assist with ice building and removal.
• Maintain rental skate inventory and perform minor repairs.
• Support event setup/cleanup and skate rentals.
• Ensure equipment is safe and properly maintained.
• Provide guidance to facility users and respond to safety concerns.
• Follow procedures; work with a supervisor and team as needed.
