Job summary

Bend Park & Recreation District is seeking a Seasonal Facilities Specialist 1 to perform semi-skilled facility maintenance and operate ice-related equipment, including the Zamboni, while overseeing public skate activities and assisting with events.

Responsibilities include ice maintenance, skate rentals, and general site support. The role requires safety awareness, good communication, and the ability to work a set schedule including early mornings and potential overnight ice building work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; two years in park services or related field preferred.
• Ability to operate and maintain ice-related equipment including ice resurfacers and edgers.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and safety awareness are essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate ice resurfacer and edger to maintain ice sheet.
• Assist with ice building/removal and skate rental operations.
• Set up/clean up and assist with events and customer guidance.
• Maintain equipment in safe, clean condition and follow safety protocols.
• Represent the facility as a courteous, reliable staff member.
